Emerging Technology Trends

On 3rd July 2018 there was a Workshop for all Software Engineering students of University of Kelaniya.

The workshop on Emerging Technology was conducted by Mr.Srinath Perera VP Research WSO2. Mr.Srinath Perera presented much about the Emerging Technology and he clarify our doubts on this topic. There were all 4th year students, 3rd year students, 2nd year students and 1st year students for the workshop. Mrs.Sarasi Senadheera, our GNCT lecturer has organized it very well.

Mr.Srinath Perera presented about main criteria of Emerging Technology such as History of Trends, Gartner Hype Cycle, Carlota perez framework, Key Trends, Current Trends, API, Analytics and AI, IoT, Conversational Agents, Blockchain, Sharing Economy, Augmented and Virtual Reality, Quantum Computing, 3D printing and so on.

API                                           Analytics and AI

Expose services beyond organizations.
Anable computer based data driven decisions.

IoT

Connet real world to digital world to make
a vision of automation and decision making
ubiqutous.                                                                           Bots

Idea that bots would make much
                                natural interface for human.

Blockchain

A destributed immutable ledger that provides trust without a third party.

Sharing economy
Extending pay per use idea from cloud to everyday life.

Augmented and Virtual reality
Immersive Virtual environments.

Quantum Computing
Use the strange ability of subatomic particles to exist in more than one state an any time solve search problems faster.

3D Printing
Ability to produce a real world design based on a digital specification.
